Club on target for air ambulance funds

Members of Wragbyand District Clay Pidgeon Club are presenting a cheque for �350-00p to Faye Nam community fundraiser for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance. The presentation took place at their monthly meeting held at the Turnor Arms on monday evening Jan, 6th. L to R Ron Lambord, Sean Hollingsworth, Faye Nam, Geoff Pacey, Paul Forman vice-chairman presenting the cheque and Paul Brand. This donation will fuel the Helicopter for two hours saving possibly two lives in the county.

Burns night - A Burns night supper is to be held at Wragby Town Hall on Saturday, January 25 at 7.30pm.

Traditional dishes will be served and there will be Scottish music and entertainment.

Tickets cost £6 or £3 for under 12s.

Beavers - The 1st Wragby Beaver Unit is looking for an assistant leader.

It is a small group of boys and girls aged six to eight and they meet every Monday evening during term time. For information call 01673 85829.

Little Angels - The Little Angels toddler group has resumed with the start of the new school term.

Meetings take place at the Town Hall on Monday mornings from 9am til 11.30am.

It provides an opportunity for parents and carers of children up to the age of five to get out and about and meet others.

The cost is £2 per family and includes refreshments.

EAST BARKWITH

Vintage Ploughing Match - Colin and Ian Fincham are providing the hospitality for the annual John Clark Vintage Ploughing Match.

Held at their farm at Panton, Smiths Field on Sotby Road on Sunday January 19 from 10.30am to 1.30pm people interested in taking part can contact John Plowright on 01472 859051.

Proceeds are for a defibrillator for the parish and the Ploughman’s Fund.

Refreshments available and no charge for spectators.

Gardeners -The Barkwith and District Gardeners Association will have their first meeting of the New Year on Friday January 24.

A social evening is on the agenda, and a range of speakers and topics are included in the new programme including lawns and roses.

The annual Mini Market will be held on Saturday May 17 and two annual shows are planned for Saturday April 12 and Friday August 29.

Lion’s Panto - It’s Panto time once again at Tattershall Village Hall where Coningsby and Tattershall Lions will be performing ‘The Pampered Princess’ on Saturday.

The story is based on Beauty and the Beast but is set in the villages of Coningsby and Tattershall.

Tickets for the 7.30pm Saturday show and Sunday Matinee from 2.30pm are priced at £3 for adults and £1 for children.
