EDITOR - A yes vote to save the town hall, in the parish poll, will show that the town only want a refurbishment option and will have rejected alternatives such as a new building or a refurbishment with a new building extension.
All three of these alternatives are currently being discussed by the town and district council representative, ELDC, LCC and various groups within the town, including one of the group's supporting this poll.

Do you still want to vote yes: Save th
e town hall and the town hall working group have questioned the motives of ELDC. Within these two groups is a minority of town councillors whose rejection of the Town Council's unanimous decision, in October last year, to consult with ELDC, to agree the best option for the town hall and the Wong, and if appropriate also agreed to demolish the town hall for a new building, seems to have been forgotten in the rush to champion this ill conceived parish poll.

Do you still want to vote yes: ELDC may just decide that as Horncastle have demonstrated they cannot be trusted to follow what the town council agreed to do in October, ELDC may withdraw from any further discussions, demolish the town hall and sell the two sites for commercial development and social housing.

Do you still want to vote yes: voting no is saying we don't like the single choice. Voting no means we want to continue with the discussions with all parties, to achieve what is best to the town.

The two groups haven't proved that refurbishment is viable and sustainable, but you are being asked to vote yes without the facts. The two groups, who have called his parish poll may well have sounded the "demolition Death Knell" of the town hall.

That would be a travesty, but at least we will all know who to blame.

Do you still want to vote yes?
