EDITOR - Having recently been a victim of the substantial hike in charges for the Lincolnshire Police Authority (78.9 per cent) in our recent council tax bill, I like many others am sure would like to see some benefit from this.
The Chief Constable says we need it for this and that but in all honesty we never see any change.

Well I think I have found where the cash is going!!!
As we were going out on Wednesday, May 7, we were heading towards Woodhall Spa and decided to
cut through from West Ashby to the main Lincoln road past Twin Lakes.
There parked on the side of the road was where our money must be going.

There were six traffic cars at least, some marked with video surveillance and a never ending selection of police (12 plus) in reflective jackets and of course the obligatory shades.

I can only presume that the additional cash is to send out more traffic cars to earn more cash from the already beleaguered motorist.

I would hardly class the Lincolnshire Wolds on a sunny Wednesday a crime hotspot and I am sure if it was, the local PCSOs would be dealing with it because we don't have real Police anymore, do we?

Is there no real policing now or is that what the Chief Constable is saving up for?

* In response to Mr Grant's comments, Inspector Tony Mendham of the roads policing unit, told the News that the officers were involved in a training exercise.
He said they had just completed a training scenario to help prepare them for tactical pursuit and containment.
