THOUSANDS of people are expected to once again pack the streets at next month's Horncastle Summer Craft Market.

Event organisers, community group Horncastle Now, are now making final preparations for the big day on Sunday, July 5.

The streets will be filled with stalls featuring a wide range of hand made Lincolnshire crafts, Tastes of Lincolnshire food producers, traditional funfair rides and sideshows.

Throughout the day there will be a full programme of live entertainment featuring local musicians, singers and dancers.

Among the new attractions for the family to enjoy is a miniature railway and organisers are also delighted to welcome members of the MG Owners Club of Louth.

The club has chosen Horncastle Summer Craft Market as their destination at the end of their annual Viking run in aid of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Appeal.

More than 100 classic cars will be driving into the town throughout the afternoon and will be displayed along North Street and the Bull Ring.

Horncastle Now is grateful to town centre businesses which have subscribed as friends of the group and financially supported the summer and Christmas markets.

There is still time for shops and businesses to sign up as a Friend of Horncastle Now and also be included in a tourist guide to be published this summer.

Lincolnshire Police and East Lindsey District Council are also supporting the events along with Horncastle Town Council.

Chairman of Horncastle Now Graham Turner said: "In these difficult times the summer market will give residents a chance to enjoy a great day out and attract visitors to the town to see what Horncastle has to offer."

Horncastle Summer Craft Market starts at 11am until 4pm and admission is free.
