Small World festival a hit

VISITORS to this year's Small World music festival did not let the wet weather dampen their spirits during the weekend of live music, held at Badger Farm in Asterby.
Owner of Badger Farm, Susi Mulligan said: "It was the best festival we have ever had. In spite of the weather it was a wonderful atmosphere with fantastic music, everybody agreed it was a great weekend."
The festival, in its fourth year, was organised by the Wolds Collective and included an eclectic mix of music and entertainment from different counties, plus workshops, a licensed bar and food stalls.
Susi said highlights of the weekend were performances from Bodega, winner of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award 2006, and Achanak, a Bollywood style band who were flown in at the last minute when the original headline act, reggae band Go Lem System, pulled out.
Susi said: "They were amazing and the crowds were dancing in the rain."
