THE new parish priest of the Horncastle group of parishes, Rev Alyson Buxton, received her license from the Bishop of Lincoln, Dr John Saxbee, at St Mary's Church on Tuesday evening.
The licensing service and party was attended by more than 300 people, including the Bishop, the Venerable Jane Sinclair, Archdeacon, and the Dean of Lincoln Phillip Bucker, from Mrs Buxton's previous parish.

"It went really fantastic and was a joyous occasion," said Mrs Buxton.

Having recently moved to Horncastle from Lincoln the new parish priest says she is settling in nicely.

"I love it. It is very friendly place," she added.

She was particularly thankful to members of St Mary's congregation who organised the party and made cakes for the guests to enjoy.
