The annual Wragby Primary School fete was opened this year by Coun Peter Phillipson.
He spoke about his time at the school and recalled how he was the only pupil to fit through the front door – horizontally.

He said he felt empathy for the teachers of today and admired the good work they do.

The fete was a special one as it was the last for headteacher Roger Holbrook who, after 14 years, is moving onto pastures new.

Before the fete opening the children put on shows for the parents including a display of Japanese drumming, percussion, signing, a Robin Hood play and a French song and ribbon dance.

All the children took part in some way during the fete and a total of £1,100 was raised for the school funds.
