STAFF and residents from Tanglewood Care Home in Horncastle have been busy knitting hats for babies at risk of hypothermia in Tibet and Africa.
They gave 33 knitted woolly hats to Jo Scarbro and Dinah Ward, the owners of Horncastle Hobby House in North Street.

Jo and Dinah have been supporting Save the Children's Knit Kit since March – which they first heard about on the Paul O'Grady show.

Since launching their appeal they have managed to collect more than 2,500 hats and more are being handed in each day.

They even received a letter, email and a ‘nodding Buster’ from Paul O’Grady for helping out.

The Tanglewood knitters produced the woolly hats during their weekly knitting club.

Entertainments Officer at Tanglewood, Tony Zberblis, said: “They seemed to enjoy it and it gave them something to do.”

All hats need to be at the Horncastle Hobby House by Friday June 6.
