MANY schools and nurseries have been organising their annual fairs and fetes as the summer season gets under way.
RAF Coningsby Nursery Centre and Kids Club had their summer fete last Saturday where a tasty barbecue was cooked up by the chef from Tanglewood Care Home.
Administrative assistant at the nursery, Jo Pexton, announced a grand fundraising total of £740.60.
She said: "Everything went really well and a big thank you goes out to everyone who took part."
Station commander Gp Capt John Hitchcock attended with his family and was a good sport, volunteering himself to get sponged in the stocks
Great prizes were given away which included return tickets on a private jet to Blackpool.
Baumber Primary School
also held its summer fair with
lots of stalls and fun activities
for the staff, pupils and their families.
Headteacher Shaun Canadine volunteered to go in the stocks and got a good soaking for his troubles.
