THE Sibsey Lancaster Memorial Trust will be holding the memorial service for the annual Service in the Field on October 4, at 2.30pm.
This is the site of the memorial erected in memory of the five crew who died in a Lancaster crash there in 1943.
Four of them lie where they fell except for the rear gunner who was thrown clear and is buried in Scotland.
The families of those lost paid for a memorial to be built and a trust was formed to maintain it and lay wreaths.
A bus leaves Tattershall Market Place at 1.30pm picking up anyone who wants to go to the service and goes to Sibsey via Coningsby for more passengers, it is a free service.
The service is conducted by Canon John Moore and refreshments in Sibsey Village Hall follow the service. All welcome.
