Kirkby on Bain kids win 'Mini Olympics' at Gartree school

MORE than 200 children took part in a sports festival at Gartree School in Tattershall on Thursday.
Five primary schools from took part in netball and cricket tournaments followed by an afternoon of Mini Olympics, with egg and spoon races, bean bag throwing and long jump.

The event, entitled Top Link Festival, was organised and run by the school sports coordinator Ben Webb.

Pupils from Coningsby St Michaels, Holy Trinity, Tattershall Primary, Mareham le Fen and Kirkby on Bain took part.

"The day was a great success," said Mr Webb who has already organised several different sports festivals at Gartree School.

It was Coningsby St Michaels who won most events at the competition, winning in quick cricket and netball.

Kirkby on Bain Primary were the winners of the Mini Olympics.

Parents were there cheering on their children and the event was supported by 13 year 10 pupils who kept the day running smoothly.
