CHILDREN at RAF Coningsby Nursery received a road safety talk during National Child Safety Week, 22-27 June.
RAF Coningsby's Cpl Stephen Marke organised a Beep Beep Day with the support of national road safety charity Brake who supplied posters, certificates, stickers and CDs for the children.
The children talked and asked questions about road sense and types of road crossings, and learnt a road safety rhyme.
They also practiced crossing a pretend road with a Zebra crossing.
Cpl Marke said: "We also took along 'Spike' the Road Safety Hedgehog, a Zebra Crossing and Kids Lollipop uniforms which were kindly loaned by Leeds City Council Road Safety Team."
Two children dressed as lollipop people and were showed how to stop cars and escorted their friends across the road.
The children went home with traffic light biscuits, road safety posters they had coloured in, stickers and a Beep Beep Day certificate.
