Organisers of a local WRVS ‘Home From Hospital’ service are appealing for volunteers.

The WRVS is based at County Hospital, Louth, but covers a wide area featuring Horncastle, several Wolds villages and Wragby.

It offers a range of services including transport to and from hospital, looking after patients’ pets and assistance with shopping and prescription collection,

A spokesman said: “We are a friendly, confidential and free support service offering practical assistance to elderly and vulnerable people going into or leaving hospital.

“We are actively seeking volunteers to support us in making Britain a better place for the elderly and to promote independence and confidence.”
