Park gets funding boost

WOODHALL Spa Parish Council has received the fantastic news that it has been awarded nearly £50,000 in grant funding to update the play park in Jubilee Park.

The funding is being provided by WREN, Lincolnshire County Council and the Friends of Jubilee Park.

The grants are subject to minor provisos and the work will hopefully be carried out November this year.

The Parish Council is extending the season at the park’s outdoor pool until September 9 which will accommodate the school term timetable during the week and school holiday programme at weekends.

Management at the complex will now be hoping for scorching weather in September and there is an option to extend the season further. Information on opening times is available by calling 01526 353478.

The caravan site will receive some much needed attention over the winter. A full refurbishment of the shower blocks is planned including a disabled shower room, washing and drying facilities and a large washing up area. The shower block will be ready and open for the 2013 season

The caravan site aims to attract extra visitors between September 2 and October 31 by offering camping with electric hook-up for £10 per night for two people.

Bookings can be made on the park’s website or via the Warden’s office on 01526 352448. This deal comes with 2 free swimming sessions per day, while the season lasts.

Lifeguards at the pool are doing a 100 mile swim to raise money for the Friends of Jubilee Park.

Twelve lifeguards will swim the distance on Sunday, September 2 and are and hoping for plenty of support.
