The funeral service for Gerald Henry Lawson took place at Coningsby United Methodist Church on Friday, January 4, 2013.

George aged 82 from Hermitage Farm, New York, died suddenly at Pilgrim Hospital on December 17, 2012.

Widower of the late Hazel Mary Lawson, George leaves son Keith Lawson, son and daughter-in-law, Ian and Rosalyn Lawson, grandchildren Philip, Bethany and Timothy, brother and sister-in-law John and Christine Lawson and sister Beryl Allsopp.

The service was officiated by Michael Jessop and James Mansfield and funeral arrangements were by Michael H Sivill of Coningsby.

George attended school at Woodhall Spa and worked for Bernard and John Porter at Stixwould Grange Farm, for his father-in-law Harold Hutton at Haven Bank and Dogdyke and as a farmer at Haven Bank (with his wife and son-in-law).

For many years he was a member of the Methodist Church at Haven Bank, steward and treasurer, overseas mission treasurer for the Coningsby Methodist Circuit and before he was married, a member of Horsington Football Club.
