Ethel Mary Hodgson (Mary) of Revesby died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85.
Mary was born at Coningsby Moorside and was the youngest of five children born to Charles and Sarah Digby.
She married Bryan Hodgson and moved to Revesby Cottage Farm at Tumby Woodside where she helped Bryan on the farm.
Mary and Bryan had three children, Bernard, Susan and Kathleen.
She moved to the Almshouses in Revesby following the death of Bryan.
While at Revesby, Mary took on the role of playing the church organ for Sunday services at St Lawrence’s Church, Revesby. The first time playing was the Christmas Eve midnight service to a full congregation.
Mary enjoyed knitting for her great-granddaughters and her great niece as well as making items for the maternity ward at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves son and daughter-in-law Bernard and Linda, daughter Susan, and daughter and son-in law Kate and Mick; grandchildren and partners Neil and Emma, Claire, Tristran, Marcus and Sadie, Andrew and Gemma, Stuart and Alison, Craig and Lindsey and great-granddaughters Chloe and Isobel.
Her funeral took place at Boston Crematorium followed by a service of thanksgiving at St Lawrence’s Church, Revesby.
Donations were invited for Macmillan Nurses and St Lawrence’s Church Revesby.
Funeral arrangements were by Michael H Sivill, Leagate Road, Coningsby.
