Museum bid for clothes
Volunteers will be making Victorian costumes with theatre costume designer Jennifer Anne McKee.
For the project, the museum need clothes made from natural fibres – cotton, felt, velvet or wool - anything that would have been found in the Victorian period.
Staff are particularly interested in any old wool or tweed suits and cotton shirts in natural colours which can be used in the museum for visitors and volunteers.
They are also looking for hats – tweed caps, straw hats and felt hats - that can be turned into Victorian hats for visitors to enjoy when the new museum opens in 2013.
