Holt Lane footpath reopens

THE Holt Lane footpath saga is finally over.

A fence that had been blocking the route has been removed by a local property owner.

The fence had been effectively blocking the path for ten years but a Government inspector ordered it should be taken down.

The inspectors backed a campaign involving residents, Lincolnshire County Council and Horncastle Town Council, who claimed the route was an established right of way.

Because of the fence, residents faced a lengthy diversion.
