Full service at town doctors surgery despite national strike

STRIKE action over proposed Government reforms to NHS pensions will not affect patients’ appointments at Horncastle Medical Group, its practice manager has said.

Richard Boucher told the News he wanted to reassure patients there will be a “full service” at the Spilsby Road practice tomorrow, Thursday June 21.

He said: “We’re not expecting any reduction in urgent or routine patient appointments.”

Nationally, thousands of doctors are expected to take part in the 24-hour strike called by the British Medical Association, a move set to cause some disruption for patients.

Horncastle Medical Group declined to say if any of its five doctors were planning to strike.

Some appointments at Louth Hospital have been affected by the strike.

Patients are encouraged to contact their doctor if they are unsure whether appointments will go ahead.
