Bottoms up for town beer fest

SAY cheers this August Bank Holiday weekend as Horncastle Beer Festival returns to the town.

Visitors will be able to sample a selection of more than 20 different real ales, ciders and perries, with food will be available throughout the weekend. There will also be live entertainment on Friday and Saturday.

The event is jointly organised by the Horncastle Cricket Club and the Horncastle Community Members’ Squash Club.

The Cricket Club will be hosting a 20/20 match on Friday night, and league games on
both Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Proceeds from the festival will be shared equally between the clubs and invested in improving their facilities.

Last year, the event was attended by more than 500 people. Organiser Tim Hannam commented: “The feedback we received from local folk after last year’s event was encouraging. A lot of time and effort has gone into ensuring this year’s festival is big and better. We are very grateful to local businesses for their support and sponsorship.”

The festival will be held at the Horncastle Astro Bar, Coronation Walk, on Friday August 24 (4pm-10pm), Saturday 25 (12 noon-10pm) and Sunday 26(12 noon-6pm, stock permitting) of August . Entry is free. For more details, visit horncastlebeerfestival.wordpress.com
