Palestinian singer, musician and broadcaster, Reem Kelani and her jazz band visited the school to lead a workshop focused on singing. A large number of Year 6 children from local primary schools, including Middle Rasen, Kelsey, and Normanby-by-Spital, were invited to join in with the project, along with Yarborough's Year 7 students.

Internationally regarded Reem Kelani encouraged all pupils to work together as a choir, singing in the Arabic language and learning about the culture and traditions of the Palestinian people. The jazz band showed the students the rhythms and sounds that corresponded with the Arabic songs, assisting the children with the beats and timing.

Modern and traditional Palestinian instruments were brought to show to the pupils who were given the opportunity to play them. During the two hour workshops the pupils were fully engaged with Reem and her band, having sung and danced, and left the workshop inspired.
